My youngest son started college today! And though that may sound nice and normal, the path to this day has been long and fraught with peril.
My son was suffering from chronic depression from the time he hit puberty. This lead to delayed maturing and eventually drug abuse. For years I was on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen next, if he was going to stay alive long enough to find help. I tried everything I could think of, I took action, I stayed with him even when his behavior was so awful I wanted to boot him out. In fact, many people over the years told me that I needed to let him go in order to help him. That was not an option I could live with.
Last year, finally, I heard about neurofeedback. This is not new, it's been around for over 30 years and was developed by NASA. There are tons of studies showing the results and guess what? This appears to be a permanent fix for depression, drug and alcohol addiction, biopolar syndrome, OCD, ADD and ADHD, head trauma and even epilepsy!
My son participated willingly because there was so much good information and it all inspired hope. He did an intensive 10 week course, sometimes having sessions 4 and 5 times a week. After the first month, he could feel the changes and he has continued to improve daily all year.
Here are the highlights of his healing:
The small changes are marvelous, too. He has a different look in his eyes, he's
thoughtful, he notices things around him. At age 24, he is a new person!

Because of this experience with my son, I've become very interested in the workings of the brain. That's why we created the CD using neurofeedback principles, using the beat of the music to anchor the words and rewire the language of self-talk.
I've heard it said that a mother is only as happy as her unhappiest child and I'm here to tell you that it's true. Today I'm very happy and so grateful to be able to share this miracle with you!
